Steps to connect the range extender to the hidden SSID:

  1. Plug the range extender 2700 to the power input and wait for the extender to boot up. It will take 3-5 minutes normally, so you don’t need to worry.
  2. Connect the client wireless device to the SSID of your Netgear extender. You will find the Ex2700 SSID on the device screen. Once it gets opened, the setup page will automatically get opened and start in your default browser. In case it doesn’t start, you can start it manually.

Note: To open the setup page on the browser, enter with the help of keyboard connected to the system. Press ‘Enter’. A page will then get opened.

  1. Now it’s the time to create an account. This is required to manage the extender. You can change the preference or settings of your Ex2700 through this account.
  2. Tap ‘Next’.
  3. From the welcome screen of Netgear Genie software, Tap on ‘Ex2700’ from the list of range extenders. A setup wizard will now get opened. After this, the setup wizard will scan for the available wireless network that is within the range. If you don’t find any wireless network in range, then you can send your query to experts.
  4. Another method is to enter the Wireless SSID manually. You can check the name of the router from other devices connected to it.
  5. Tap ‘Next’.
  6. Enter the name of SSID in the respective box.
  7. Select the same security option as used in the router.
  8. Enter a password if required.
  9. Tap ‘Next’.
  10. When you click next, the extender will now get initiated to connect to router Wi-Fi network.
  11. After the successful connection with the router, you will be asked to enter the SSID and password of extender2700 wireless network. If you want to keep the same settings of security as that of the router, then click on ‘Keep it unchanged’.
  12. Tap ‘Next’ to finalize the setup process.
  13. Start connecting the nearby Wi-Fi devices to the new extender and check if it is working or not. If working, then click to finish setup.
