The wireless channel number is the frequency band that the wireless router uses for communication. The channel numbers in the normal router ranges from 1 to 11. By default, these routers are set to 1, 6 and 11 but you can change the settings in order to overcome the interference problem.

It is recommended to change the administrator password as early as possible after configuring the router as the default credentials are well-known to the online intruders.
From the ‘Wireless networking’ menu, go to ‘Security mode and click on ‘Wi-fi encryption’. Here you will find the ‘Authentication’ settings from where you can protect the data and the connection from the online intruders or unauthorized persons.
